Google Fiber is building a fiber-to-the-home (and small business) network in Pocatello, and is in the planning process to build a fiber-to-the-home network in Chubbuck, extending our network in Idaho.
We are building neighborhood by neighborhood, making service available as sections of the network are ready. To get the latest information on our build process or availability in your area, sign up for email updates.
While these types of infrastructure projects generally take several years to complete, we will connect neighborhoods as they’re ready while we build out additional areas.
Fiber optic internet is a connection made of glass strands, and uses lasers to transmit information at rates close to the speed of light. Yep, that’s techy. But for you, it means fast upload and download speeds, enough internet for multiple devices, and 99.9% reliable connection3.
With our 1 Gig plan, you’ll get upload and download speeds up to 1 gigabit per second, or 1000 Mbps. With our 2 Gig plan, you’ll get download and upload speeds up to 2 gigabits per second, or 2000 Mbps. With our 5 Gig plan, that’s upload and download speeds up to 5 gigabits per second. And, as you might have guessed, 8 Gig offers symmetrical 8 gigabit speeds.
Google Fiber 1 Gig is $70/month. Our 2 Gig plan costs $100/month. Our 5 gig plan costs $125/month. 8 Gig costs $150 per month. Every plan includes installation, Wi-Fi, a mesh-ready router, unlimited data – all without extra fees. You can add home phone service for an additional $10/month.
